Description
Italian Miniature Portrait Locket Signed P. Caprioli, in Display Box.
An antique hand-painted portrait in a gold-filled hinged locket which opens as pictured, with cotton stuffing inside. The portrait is signed P. Caprioli, and the signature is repeated on a paper inside as well, along with the word Firenze.
There is considerable loss on the cobalt enamel on the back side. Both sides are accented with a rim of seed pearls.
The display box is an extra nice touch, with an easel stand on the back.
Locket is 1 1/4" diameter; box is 3 1/2" x 3" (closed).
