Artist bio:
Rocco Monticolo (1931–2022), known as R. Monti, was a Philadelphia-area abstract artist and painter who created vibrant, often colorful oil paintings and sculpture intended for decorative, enjoyable art. His works, frequently signed "R. Monti, " are collected for their expressive abstract style.
Born in Italy (1931) and settled in Philadelphia, he studied at the Philadelphia-based Hussain School of Art, graduating in 1969.Style: Known for Mid-Century Modern, abstract, and often vibrant "drip art" or figurative styles, usually in oil on board or canvas.
